2. Compare the different ways in which Heaney and or Frost and Joyce present childhood experience in their work.
I'm suprised that a number of students have opted to write on this essay title using Heaney and Frost because there is an obvious problem with the essay title. Although there are a variety of relevant poems from Heaney to write about, there is however only one poem to write on for Frost. The name of that poem is Birches.
As a number of you have chosen this essay title I suggest we amend it so that you can write about two or three poems on Robert Frost.
So please amend the essay title to : Compare the different ways in which Heaney and or Frost and Joyce present the past in their work.
Remember to write on two poems per poet or possibly three. There must be an equal amount of analysis on Frost and Heaney.
So both poets write about the past. Heaney write specifically about his own childhood experience in a number of poems. Although Frost writes about his own childhood experience. He is not limited to childhood experience only but writes more generally about himself as an adult and events that have taken place in the recent past.
There are two recent posts about this essay title. One refers to After Apple - picking and the other poem is Mending Wall.
