For Wednesday 6 February and Friday 8 February - for Janet and David's group

The Task

In your groups prepare the poem you have chosen. You should prepare a handout that is no longer than a sheet of A4 paper – either typed or hand written. I expect the presentation will be between 3 – 5 minutes in length.

The following questions are a guide to help you produce the handout and give the presentation

•In what ways does the illustration for your poem contribute to your understanding of the poem?

• How are the terms innocence and experience further developed by your chosen poem?

 • Comment on the presentation of children in your chosen poem?

 • Comment on the presentation of parents in your chosen poem?

• How is the church and religion presented in the poem?

 • How is the community / society presented in the poem?

• In what ways does your chosen poem link directly to contextual factors in the broader society?

 • Look up on the internet the illustration for the poem you’ve chosen

• Use the notes in the back of the book to help you.

• Read and understand the paired poem from the alternative book.

• Become familiar with the other poems in this group.
