Students that do the homework set will improve and will get C or B with a good chance of an A in the summer for this unit. Students that don't do the work set are limiting themselves to getting an E or a D grade with a slim chance of a C.

If this is timed work spend no more than 40 minutes planning, writing and editing your text.

Use appropriate format

The ratio between contents and adaptation MUST consist of over 90% content - information from the source text. And less than 10% adaptation - text used to support the specific audience, purpose and genre.

Be concise in writing

Avoid becoming emotional. Remain factual, rational and emotionally detached. This will enable you to be authoritive and trustworthy.

COMMENTARY

If this is timed work spend no more than 20 minutes planning, writing and editing the commentary.

If you write a production task you should write a commentary as well.

Address audience, purpose and genre. Support with evidence - quotes and make analytical comments.

The commentary is generally no more than 250 words.
