Write a table that gives an overview of the play Equus. Divide your page into 5 columns. The first column will be the scene number, the second – scene headlines, the third – a quotation that supports the headline[s] you’ve written, fourth – reference the quote [page number and scene number will do], finally – Alan/Dysart here you can comment on their relationship, comment on Alan or Dysart’s state of mind, significant developments or changes in them. If you have relevant quotations include them as well.

Ongoing – You need to continue reading Jane Eyre. We will start our study of this immediately after Christmas but may begin before Christmas. I will publish lesson plans for this novel on the blog shortly.

Ongoing – I expect you have read Spies by Michael Frayn. We will begin studying this in a week.

Remember – you are reading these texts as a student not a consumer. That means you have a pencil in your hand and are noting the main event that takes place on each page. Note down the headline or title for each chapter. Underline important quotations. Note down key events and main characteristics of key characters in the margins. Look out for important themes and writing techniques that stand out.
