IB CLASS PRESENTATION NOTES


Presentations

 

Notes taken from the class on Thursday 13 December on good presentations

·         Talk to the audience, eye contact

 

·         Don’t use a script use speaking notes

 

·         Speak clearly – right volume appropriate for room/situation

 

·         Pace – speed that is appropriate for people to listen to

 

·         Wide range of vocabulary, don’t repeat words and phrases

 

·         Pitch – ability to speak using full range of notes

 

·         Intonation – ability to articulate sounds fully

 

·         Create positive and enthusiastic tone

 

·         Body language: not slouching, face audience, don’t fidget

 

·          No hands in pockets. Only use hands to support message you are trying to communicate.

·          

·         Positive facial expression

 

·         Pauses at appropriate times, use silence

 

·         Stick to the topic, define topic clearly at beginning of presentation
