If you are intending to resit any AS units in the summer it's important to note that for ELLA 1 Things Fall Apart and Close Range will no longer be on the syllabus. And for ELLA 2 The Caretaker and Equus will be taken off the syllabus.

Here are four books to help you in your second year of the A Level in English Language and Literature course.
AQA A2 Engish Language and Literature A: written by Andy Archibald and David Emery is published by Nelson Thornes. The ISBN is 978-1-4085-1385-9. This book has been approved and exclusively endorced by AQA. This is the course book for the second year. There are four chapters on the analytical comparison question - section A of the exam, There are four chapters on adapting texts for an audience - section B question of the exam. There are nine chapters on the coursework.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE & LITERATURE AS & A2: written by Alan Gardiner and published by Longman in the Revision Express series. The ISBN IS 978-1-4058-2367-8. This is a book that covers aspects of the course but not written specifically for this A Level. However I've found it informative and helpful. It covers the specific areas of language and literary analysis in some detail and depth. It includes tasks to do, answers and helpful checklists. It is published as a revision guide so may well be helpful for students doing resits.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE AS & A2: written by Alan Gardiner and published by Longman in the Revision Express series. The ISBN is 1-405-82125-6. This book is written for the A Level in English Language. It contains chapters that are not relevant to the study of Language and Literature. However there are some chapters that are specifically about language analysis and goes into some depth. It is a revision guide and may be suitable for students resitting Ella 2 or feel they need extra help and guidence on the language frameworks on the course. It covers spoken and written language as well as covers a variety of dofferent written genres.
There is also ENGLISH LITERATURE AS & A2 published bt Longman in the Revision Express series. I've used this a couple of times and found it generally helpful. Like the book above it is not written specifically for the syllabus we are studying but does cover useful areas of the course.
