However to keep going with those top grades youi should consider the following points:
- A key to this task I think is to refer to the dialogue earlier in the scene between Stanley and Blanche. 'Say, do you happen to know somebody named Shaw?' I can imagine Stanley telling Steve about this during the evening.
- Also Stella's last exchange with Blanche introduces the idea of marriage between Blanche and Mitch. I can imagine Stella bringing this up with Eunice during the evening.
- You need to create a dialogue in which lots of ideas and episodes are embedded in the text.
- It's really important to create an interesting, dynamic exchange between speakers. Create conflict right from the start of the dialogue.
- It's also good to pick up on the voices of the characters but you do not need to make this extreme or over the top. Yo need only '...give a sense of Eunice and Steve's voice.'
- Don't make the production task too long. The quality of the dialogue is very important here. The majority of the marks are in creating a believable situation.
- I strongly recommend starting the scene with a short, simple and concise stage direction.
- In scene 5 Stanley mentions the man 'Shaw' to Blanche. It would be completely appropriate to refer to this piece of information.
- I would expect that they may speculate on the date Blanche has with Mitch. and for them to comment on this developing relationship.
- Refer to Stella's pregnancy. This would be a useful point to introduce in this episode.
- Refer to the poker night - lots of you did this already.
- This is a real opportunity to write a commentary on the relationship between Stella, Stanley and Blanche from an outsider's perspective.
